Indonesian university delegation visits UNN

A delegation of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta, which is a partner institution of UNN, paid a visit to Lobachevsky University. The Indonesian delegation comprised  Dr. S. Bekti Istiyanto, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and Dr. Munadhil Abdul Muqsith, Head of the Communication Sciences Department.

During their visit, the Indonesian colleagues gave a lecture on "Indonesia's Media System" to Lobachevsky University students, visited the UNN Media Centre, and held talks on cooperation with Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Networking, Konstantin Kemaev, Deputy Vice-Rector, Larisa Zhukovskaya, Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, and Lyudmila Makarova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism.

The parties discussed cooperation in science and education, in particular, the launch of an academic exchange programme, the development of research, including a joint project to study fact-checking technology, joint conferences, and cooperation in the study of Russian as a foreign language by Indonesian students. The participants also shared their views on the prospects of developing educational programmes and short-term courses in the most promising areas: international journalism and international relations.  The Indonesian partners expressed great interest in cooperation in other areas, including fundamental and clinical medicine, agro- and biotechnology, materials science, computer science, economics and international law.

"The agreement between our universities was signed in April 2023 in a distance format, and now we already have the honour to host a delegation from faraway Indonesia in Nizhny Novgorod. We are convinced that this will be the start of our fruitful cooperation, and mutual visits of our delegations and student exchanges will become stable and regular," said Alexander Bedny at the end of the meeting.
