On February 3, the Performance Optimization Computer Vision Winter Camp was opened in the Lobachevsky University.The Winter Camp will be held from February 3 to 8, 2020 at the ITMM Institute with the support of Intel.

The Camp is supported by Intel academic programs. It integrates the academic experience of Lobachevsky University teachers and the practical experience of Intel engineers in software optimization and creation of high-performance systems. It is aimed at improving the professional skills of young IT specialists in Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod region.

The Winter Camp is attended by more than 80 students of the Lobachevsky University, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, Higher School of Economics and other universities of Nizhny Novgorod.

Under the guidance of leading experts of Intel and Lobachevsky University, attendees will have the opportunity to improve their skills in the following areas of software optimization:

  • Parallel programming and OpenMP;
  • Code profiling and benchmarking;
  • Compilers overview and optimizations;
  • SIMD/autovectorization;
  • Math libraries overview and using;
  • C++ performance optimization;
  • OpenCV and OpenVINO™ overview.

The Winter Camp provides a flexible format for participation: full-time (all lectures and practices) and part-time (free attendance of lectures and independent implementation of practical tasks). At the end of the camp, full-time participants will have an excursion to the Intel office in Nizhny Novgorod.
