International conference EduVolgaForum opens
On 2 May, the 5th International Conference "Current Trends in Education Development: Best Russian and Foreign Practices" was launched. This year, the conference opened simultaneously at the sites of two universities: Lobachevsky University and Volgograd State Technical University.
Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. She underlined the importance of analysing promising trends of education development using the best Russian and foreign practices to be discussed at the conference and noted the uniqueness of this international forum for our country's academic community.
UNN Rector Oleg Trofimov made welcoming remarks on behalf of Lobachevsky University and thanked partner universities for their fruitful work in organising the conference. This year, within the framework of network cooperation, Lobachevsky University organised this international forum jointly with its partner universities: Volgograd State Technical University, Kazan National Research Technological University, Turan University (Kazakhstan), Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz (Kazakhstan), and Institute of Innovative Professions (Kyrgyzstan). In total, more than 200 participants from 46 Russian and 6 foreign leading educational organisations registered for the conference, including around 100 speakers.
The plenary session was held in a face-to-face format at the Volgograd State Technical University. Participants from other cities had the opportunity to join the conference online.
Breakout sessions were held in the remote format covering the following topics:
- "Practice of involving students in research activities: problems and approaches to solving them"
- "Innovations in legal education"
- "Modern trends in philological science and education"
- "Interdisciplinarity as a vector of modernity: education, research and innovation"
- "Modern approaches to human resource management".
The conference organisers are grateful to the UNN Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law, the UNN Department of Human Resource Management and the UNN Department of Russian Language Teaching in Other Language Environments for their active participation in organising the breakout sessions.
The second round of the conference will be held from 3 to 8 May on board the Mikhail Frunze river cruise ship, which will sail along the route Volgograd - Saratov - Samara - Ulyanovsk - Cheboksary - Nizhny Novgorod. The extensive six-day programme includes three plenary sessions, two master classes - "Higher Education: Overcoming Borders and Expanding Knowledge" and "Regional Educational Ecosystems", as well as discussion clubs according to the interests of the conference participants.
