Международная конференция EduVolgaForum стартовала в Университете Лобачевского
The international conference EduVolgaForum «Topical trends of education development: best Russian and international practices» opened at Lobachevsky University. It takes place in a face-to-face and online format. The opening session of the conference was moderated by Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Networking.

Oleg Trofimov, Acting Rector of Lobachevsky University, welcomed the participants:

«This is a large-scale event which Lobachevsky University is holding for the fourth time. This year we prepared it together with Kazan National Research Technological University and Turan University (Republic of Kazakhstan). Over the years the forum has become a real discussion platform aimed at developing and strengthening international cooperation in higher education, a space for bringing together representatives of Russian and foreign universities».

The guests were also greeted by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Dilbar Sultanova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Kazan National Research Technological University and Gulzhanat Tayauova, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Doctoral Studies of Turan University (Republic of Kazakhstan).

Lobachevsky University holds the international conference EduVolgaForum every year. The event is initiated and organised by the UNN International Cooperation Office.

The forum aims to create a platform for the development and strengthening of international cooperation in higher education by bringing together representatives of Russian and foreign universities. In different years, the conference was attended by leading foreign partner universities of Lobachevsky University, including the Financial Academy (Kazakhstan), Turan University (Kazakhstan), Narhoz University (Kazakhstan), University of Grenoble Alps (France), Vienna University of Economics (Austria), Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (China), as well as representatives of leading Russian universities. In total, representatives of 9 foreign and 50 Russian universities participated in the three previous forums.

In 2023, UNN is holding its 4th forum. More than 250 persons have registered for the face-to-face and online participation, including about 100 speakers. There will be participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.

On the opening day of the conference, there were three parallel panels in a face-to-face and remote format at Lobachevsky University:

- «Issues of organising the development of online education» (the panel is organised jointly with Turan University, Kazakhstan).

- «Foreign language teaching methods and internationalisation of education» (the panel is organised jointly with Kazan National Research Technological University).

- «Practice-oriented approach in the training of professionals for legal science, education, practice: legal-cultural and didactic principles and problems» (IV Nizhny Novgorod Legal Readings).

From 29 May to 2 June, the face-to-face part of the conference will continue on board the ship «Alexander Radishchev" sailing along the route Nizhny Novgorod - Makariev - Sviyazhsk - Bolgar - Kazan - Nizhny Novgorod.  The five-day programme includes three plenary sessions of the conference and a thematic panel on the digitalization of education and research activities that will be held at Kazan National Research Technological University. The concluding session of the international conference will take place on 2 June 2023.
