International Conference "Mathematical Modelling and Supercomputer Technologies" opens at UNN
The 21st International Conference and School "Mathematical Modelling and Supercomputer Technologies" opened at Lobachevsky University on November 22. The event is held as part of the International Congress “Russian Supercomputing Days”.
The topics of the Conference cover a wide range of problems of mathematical modelling of complex processes, methods for decision support and artificial intelligence, theory of dynamical systems and bifurcations, application of supercomputing technologies for solving computationally complex problems. The School is focused on modern high performance computing technologies and opportunities for their practical application to solving urgent scientific and technological problems. The School includes a three-day intensive online programme (lectures and master classes for students, postgraduates and young scientists) that will explore the new oneAPI heterogeneous programming model and the Data Parallel C++ programming language. A virtual tour of Intel will also be organized for the participants.
The conference was opened by Roman Strongin, President of Lobachevsky University. In his speech he noted the outstanding role of Professor Victor Gergel, who passed away this summer, in the development of research in the field of parallel programming and supercomputing at Lobachevsky University.
On the first day of the conference, plenary reports were delivered by scientists from Moscow State University, Joint Institute for High Temperatures RAS (Moscow), Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (Switzerland), National Institute of Applied Sciences at Lyon (France). More than 50 scientific papers were delivered at five breakout sessions presenting the state-of-the-art research in the field of mathematical modelling of complex processes and phenomena as well as supercomputing methods for solving important tasks in various fields of science, industry, business and education.
