International Congress of Students held in the Altai Republic
From December 5 to 10, the International Student Congress "Interdialog: ISTOKI.RU" was held in the Altai Republic. The event was organized by Lobachevsky University, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Resource Youth Center with the support of the Public Chamber of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Participating in the Congress were students from 20 higher and secondary educational institutions of Russia, as well as foreign students from Serbia, Kazakhstan and Latvia. The program included the educational and cultural part of the finals of the All-Russian contest “My Family is My Value”.
The educational part included discussion platforms, panel sessions, trainings in small groups for discussing topical issues concerning family and family relations, lectures and master classes on the traditions of Russia’s peoples and on the historical significance of the family. The cultural part included an excursion program, the “Peoples of Russia” event, a soiree dedicated to famous people born in Altai, a game based on the traditions of Russia’s peoples, performances by honored artists of the Altai Republic and of the Russian Federation, and the presentation of a documentary film about the life of the Altai people. The results of the All-Russian student contest “My Family is My Value” in four nominations were also summed up in the course of the Congress.
The congress was held as part of the “Lineage. Family. Traditions” Comprehensive Program, which became the winner of the All-Russian competition of youth projects among Russia’s higher educational institutions. The international congress of student youth "Interdialog: ISTOKI.RU" was first held in 2008. Over the years, it took place in the Republic of Abkhazia, the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Altai Republic. Altogether, more than 1500 students took part in the event in all these years.
