For the first time, Nizhny Novgorod will host the International Science Battle.Researchers from Palestine, Gabon, Ecuador, Egypt, Nigeria, and Ghana who are working in Nizhny Novgorod will gather on the same stage at the Arsenal (Kremlin, Building 6) on October 15, at 18:30.

The event is organised by Lobachevsky University and the Lobachevsky Lab Science Park. The Science Battle is supported by the federal programme"Priority 2030".

Each of the six participants will have just ten minutes to present their research in an engaging and accessible manner. After each presentation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions, and at the end of the evening, the winner will be determined by applause measured with a sound meter.

Yasser Abu Dawwas (Palestine), a lecturer at the Department of Differential Equations, Mathematical and Numerical Analysis at Lobachevsky University's Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics, and Mechanics (IITMM), will discuss the finite element method used for constructing skyscrapers and bridges. Mve Ango Davin-Rheol (Gabon), a master's student at IITMM, will demonstrate how an industrial robot learns from its mistakes. Karen Mishelle Fiallos Barrionuevo (Ecuador), a postgraduate student at the UNN Institute of Biology and Biomedicine (IBBM), will explain how cells create DNA networks and why vitamin C can act as an antidote. Omar Saad Zaghloul (Egypt), a graduate of the UNN Institute of Clinical Medicine, will talk about how computer technology enhances patient comfort in dentistry. JusticeObundaNyeche (Nigeria), a master's student at IBBM, will present research on ferroptosis and its application against colorectal cancer. Caleb Yaw Fosu (Ghana), a master's student at theUNN Faculty ofChemistry, will discuss how photochemistry and flow reactors facilitate the creation of new medicinal substances more quickly andin amore environmentally friendly manner.

Admission is free, but the number of seats is limited. Registration is required.
