International сonference on physical education and sports held in Nizhny Novgorod
From December 11 to December 14, the 24th International Conference "Modern approaches to optimizing the process of physical education, sports training and health improvement of the population" was held in Nizhny Novgorod. It brought together more than 300 participants, including representatives from scientific organizations, universities, sports and medical institutions, as well as researchers and practitioners from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, and Kyrgyzstan.
The event was organised by Lobachevsky University, Belarusian State University of Physical Education, Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, Ivanovo State Medical Academy, Chaikovsky State Academy of Physical Education and Sports, Federal Sports Reserve Training Centre and Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
UNN Rector Oleg Trofimov greeted the guests of the conference:
"On behalf of Lobachevsky University, I am pleased to welcome you to the 24th International Conference on Sports. Sport is indeed a part of our lives, and this conference reflects that. We are actively promoting sport, teaching pedagogy and developing our athletes. Students from Lobachevsky University have achieved great success at prestigious competitions, winning gold medals and trophies at the World Sambo Cup, European Championships in swimming and athletics, Paralympic Games, All-Russian tournaments in badminton, hockey and martial arts. We have accomplished a lot, and this is the result of not only our efforts but also the support of our colleagues and friends, especially the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The number of participants grows every year, indicating an increase in relevance and interest in the conference. Thanks to our collaboration, new projects have emerged. The international nature of the conference is a significant advantage. This shows that sport brings people together."
At the opening of the conference, an agreement on educational and scientific cooperation was signed between Lobachevsky University and the National Centre for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The agreement envisages the promotion of academic mobility for students and faculty, joint research projects, the creation and implementation of collaborative educational programmes, as well as scientific, educational, and youth events.
