International students take part in Chkalov Fishing Fest - 2025

On 1 March, international students of Lobachevsky University took part in the 16th International Ice Fishing Festival “Chkalov Fishing Fest-2025”. Traditionally, this event attracts thousands of participants and spectators.

During the festival, 11 international students from Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Ecuador, India, Algeria, Colombia and Syria not only watched the competition of sport fishermen, but also tried their hand at ice fishing. For many of them it was their first experience of winter fishing, which sparked a storm of positive emotions and exciting impressions.

Along with the sports programme, the festival offered its guests varied cultural events:  performances by folk groups, tasting of traditional Russian dishes and hot drinks that helped them warm up on a chilly day.

Participation in the Chkalov Fishing Fest is more than just exciting entertainment, it is also a great opportunity for international students to broaden their horizons, integrate into Russian society and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
