For the first time,  Lobachevsky University  held its international summer school "The practice of developing Android applications and the use of Big Data", which was attended by graduate students of leading Mexican universities. During one month, school participants studied the basics of developing mobile applications for the Android platform, data mining and technology for working with big data. They also had Russian language classes. The program of the summer school included 120 hours of practical training. A rich cultural program was also offered to the students, who visited together with the Integration program volunteers a number of historical places and museums of Nizhni Novgorod and the Nizhni Novgorod region, took part in Russian-Spanish conversation clubs and master classes of folk art. For all school participants, it was their first time in Russia, and the acquaintance with the Russian language and culture was of special interest to this group of students. One of the highlights of the school was a visit to the MERA company, where the students met with the employees of the company and learned about the employers' requirements to IT specialists in Russia.

 "Today, Data Scientist is a very popular specialty that is in high demand.  Big data are used in all spheres of our life where information analysis is required: this includes banking, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, healthcare, and public administration".

"During this month, I learned a lot of new things during our practical classes, met amazing people, got a taste of delicious Russian cuisine, saw many stunning places and made new friends".

At the closing ceremony of the program on July 28, Deputy Dean of the Faculty for International Students Konstantin Kemaev presented  Lobachevsky University certificates to all the participants, congratulated the students on the successful completion of their training, and told them about the possibilities of continuing their studies in the Master's program at Lobachevsky University .
