International workshop “New Approaches in Eastern European, Central European, Russian and Eurasian studies”
On June 11, Lobachevsky University hosted an international workshop “New Approaches in Eastern European, Central European, Russian and Eurasian studies”. It was organized by Lobachevsky University and the University of Glasgow under the auspices of the CEERES consortium.
Representatives of universities from the UK, Hungary, Georgia, Poland, Estonia, Kazakhstan and Russia discussed a number of issues, the relevance of which is evident from the titles of the reports submitted by the participants: “Values and interests in communication between Russia and the West” (Mikhail Rykhtik, Lobachevsky University), “National interests and regional cooperation: the role of the V4 in European politics” (Sandor Gallai, Corvinus University, Hungary), “Georgia - Russia - the West: Triangular Relationship” (Gia Nodia, Ilya Chavchavadze State University, Georgia), “Russia's latent soft power” (Ammon Cheskin, University of Glasgow), “International educational projects and European academic network: experience and problems” (Vladimir Blonin, University of Lobachevsky), etc.
As part of the cultural program, the conference participants visited the city of Gorodets, where they were introduced to the rich history and folk crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
