On September 24-25, Lobachevsky University hosted one of the key events in the Russian IT industry, the international conference "Ivannikov Memorial Workshop". The conference that is focused on the development of innovative technologies in the field of system programming is designed to bring together the efforts and knowledge of the best Russian and foreign experts in this field. The two-day event has been held annually since 2018 on the initiative of the Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISP RAS) in memory of Academician Victor Ivannikov, an outstanding scientist in the field of computer science and programming, who founded the Institute in 1994. This year's conference is dedicated to the Year of Science and Technology.

The plenary session in face-to-face and remote formats was addressed by: President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Sergeev; Director of ISP RAS, Academician Arutyun Avetisyan; Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region Olga Petrova; Rector of Lobachevsky University, RAS Corresponding Member Elena Zagaynova; Director of the Ott Research Institute for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology, RAS Corresponding Member Igor Kogan; Scientific Secretary of ISP RAS Oleg Samovarov, and other participants.

Welcoming the participants, Elena Zagaynova, Rector of Lobachevsky University, noted the importance of holding the Ivannikov Memorial Workshop at UNN: "By hosting this top-notch conference today, we give our students the opportunity to join this event in a face-to-face format, to get in touch with science in IT, and to see those who are making science in Russia today. This is a good start for the young people who can become IT luminaries in the near future".
