On July 4, Lobachevsky University was visited by ??Jonathan Brenton, Minister Counselor of the British Embassy in Moscow. On behalf of the UNN, the Minister was welcomed by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny, Head of the International Office Irina Leonova and  Deputy Head of the International Office Dmitry Kolesnikov. In the course of the meeting, UNN officials and Mr. Brenton discussed cooperation between Russia and the UK in the field of science and education. Representatives of Lobachevsky University told the guest about the long-term cooperation projects between the UNN and a number of British universities and about the plans to expand interaction with universities in the UK, including exchanges in the framework of international programs such as Erasmus+. Jonathan Brenton presented the projects that the British Embassy is going to implement for strengthening the ties between the two countries in the field of science  and education. These plans include visits of British scholars to Russian institutions of higher education, implementation of joint projects in the field of science and technology, various conferences and meetings for young scientists of the two countries. Lobachevsky University representatives expressed their readiness to participate in these initiatives and confidence in the fruitful development of academic, cultural, scientific and technological ties between Russia and the United Kingdom.a
