Kyrgyz Republic delegation visits Lobachevsky University

A delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic lead by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Kubanychbek Bokontayev visited Lobachevsky University. The delegation comprised Bakyt Asanaliev, Head of the Consular Department of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation, Ermek Omuraliev, Counsellor of the Embassy, and Vadim Yun, Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in Nizhny Novgorod.

The main topic of the meeting was bilateral cooperation and establishment of business ties. Taking part in the discussion were Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University, Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and External Communications, Alexander Malyshev, Vice-Rector for Security, and Alexander Gorylev, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department.

“Over the past several years we have very much intensified our cooperation with our partners from the Kyrgyz Republic. We have been working actively with nine universities and one school. This cooperation covers a whole range of areas of mutual interest. We hope that with the support of the Embassy and the Honorary Consulate, which was opened in Nizhny Novgorod, our work will become even more effective,“ said Alexander Bedny.

Lobachevsky University has been fruitfully cooperating with partners from the Kyrgyz Republic for many years. For example, last year, the Kyrgyz-Russian Research and Education Centre “Lobachevsky Lab” was opened in Bishkek at the Institute of Innovative Professions.  This is a joint project of Lobachevsky University and the Institute of Innovative Professions. The Centre is a venue where joint scientific events are held, joint network educational programmes are developed, and mobility programmes are implemented.

One of the Centre's activities is also focused on career guidance for school students. In addition, UNN is implementing a unique master's programme “Psychology of Sport and Healthy Lifestyle“. It is very popular with students from Central Asian countries, in particular, Kyrgyzstan. At present, a whole group of masters of sports of international class, directors of sports schools, heads of sports federations and coaches of national sports teams of the republic are studying on this programme.

Currently, 12 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are studying at different faculties of Lobachevsky University.
