Law in the Digital Age
On November 15, the UNN Faculty of Law held a video conference on the topic “Law in the Digital Age” with the participation of US federal judge Stephen Friot. The video conference was attended by teaching staff members and graduates of the UNN Faculty of Law. The discussion during the event was focused on the issues related to the use of digital technologies by lawyers in their work in the modern era and the peculiarities of training law professionals in the United States for working in the digital economy.
Judge Friot made a presentation on the use of digital technology by lawyers in lawsuits in the USA, and then answered a number of questions from conference participants. An interesting topic concerning the elements of artificial intelligence in the mechanism of judicial discretion was presented by Vladimir Tolstolutsky, Professor at the UNN Department of Criminal Law and Procedure. Conference participants have noted the advantage of holding video conferences on current topics in the development of modern legal science and practice.
