This was the school for high-school students and teachers of the Laza Kostich Gymnasium from Novi Sad, Serbia.

From August 12 to August 26, 2018 National Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod with the financial support of the "Russkiy Mir" Foundation hosted the language summer school for high-school students and teachers of the Laza Kostich Gymnasium from Novi Sad, Serbia.

10 students and 2 teachers of the Russian language and literature of the Lazy Kostich Gymnasium took part in this school. Lobachevsky University has a longstanding cooperation with the Lazy Kostich Gymnasium, especially within the organisation of joint summer schools.

The aim of this project was to promote the interest in the Russian language, history and culture among Serbian youth. The school program included the Russian language classes, the excursion program, as well as lectures on Russian folklore and the history of Nizhny Novgorod, and regional studies.

The interesting excursion program was organized for the summer school participants, aimed at familiarization with the culture, history and traditional folk art of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Thus, students visited Kremlin, the Rukavishnikov Manor, the Museum of the Volga Region Peoples, the A.M. Gorky's "House of Kashirin", the Shchelkovsky Khutor museum. The most impressive were the museums of the city of Gorodets.

In the addition to the program, the participants visited UNN Research Institute "Institute of Living Systems" - a unique interdisciplinary structure of Lobachevsky University, which unites specialists in various fields - biologists, physicists, chemists, mathematicians.

At the closing of the summer school participants were awarded certificates and memorable presents from the project organizers. Students of the Institute of Philology and Journalism studying the Serbian language took part in the school as volunteers. They managed to create a warm and comfortable environment for our guests.
