There were also practical sessions on teamwork and on designing programmes aimed at developing and strengthening interethnic cooperation at the university.

The students acquired valuable knowledge and skills necessary for effective management and organisation of their communities' activities.

“UNN is making great efforts to integrate our international students into the student community of Lobachevsky University. Social work with representatives of different countries who study at Lobachevsky University has its own specifics. It is very important to take into account the socio-cultural peculiarities, while creating a platform for seamless integration of newly arrived international students. Our support for the activities of national associations, whose leaders are competent and well trained students, is very important and makes a great contribution not only to creating a comfortable learning environment, but also to the harmonization of intercultural relations,” said Dmitry Medvedev, Head of the UNN International Students Support Office.

The organizers are grateful to Ekaterina Timokhina of the UNN Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work, Natalia Dunaeva, Head of the Centre for Social and Psychological Support of Students, and Polina Gasyan and Yulia Kurzyukova, psychologists of the Centre, for their support and assistance in conducting the workshop.
