Lobachevsky LAB Research and Education Centre opens in Bishkek
On October 10, the Kyrgyz-Russian Research and Education Centre “Lobachevsky LAB” was opened at the Institute of Innovative Professions in Bishkek. The new centre will conduct joint research, implement network educational programs, and organise study placements for students and postgraduates. One of the centre's activities will also include career guidance for school students.
Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University, took part in the opening of the centre. He emphasised that cooperation between UNN and the Institute of Innovative Professions has been going on since 2023. The universities hold joint academic events, lectures for Kyrgyz students, they also implement a programme of distance mobility for students. A joint master's programme with the UNN Higher School of Arts and Design is at the final stage of preparation.

We will do our best to work together to effectively address the challenges facing our countries. The opening of the Lobachevsky Lab was timed to coincide with the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Institute of Innovative Professions. Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, addressed the audience via video link:
“Lobachevsky University has an extensive network of partners in Russia and around the world, which will allow us to involve colleagues from other universities in the Centre's work. Lobachevsky LAB lays a good foundation for the expansion of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation. Through joint work, our scientists will develop approaches and formats that meet modern challenges. These are new opportunities for both students and teachers. I wish my colleagues good luck and success!“.
The cooperation agreement between Lobachevsky University and the Institute of Innovative Professions was signed on 13 October 2023 during the Third Forum of Rectors of the two countries, which took place in Osh, Kyrgyzstan.
