"Lobachevsky. Student's Path": school students experience university life
One hundred school students from various parts of the Nizhny Novgorod region took part in the university-wide project "Lobachevsky. Student's Path".
During the project that targets students in grades 9–11, each participant spent a day as a real university student: attending lectures, taking part in practical classes and laboratory work, and engaging in extracurricular activities. A student mentor accompanied each participant. Some of the mentors had been part of the project the previous year and subsequently chose to enroll at the university.
As part of the event, the students were given tours of the university buildings, museums, and other interesting spaces. For instance, future students of the Faculty of Social Sciences visited the relaxation room and learned about the functions of the social and psychological support centre for students.
Upon completing the project, each student, in addition to gaining insights about their prospective faculty or institute and overall impressions, was provided with a list of specialties recommended for admission, tailored to their individual psychological assessment. The closing event was the intellectual game "Music Lotto," organised by Lobachevsky University’s Intellectual Club. The project has been held annually during the school spring break since 2021.
