On March 27, Lobachevsky University and School 21 in Nizhny Novgorod concluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of information technologies. The document was signed by Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University, and Alexander Peresypkin, Director of the School 21 Nizhny Novgorod campus.

The parties regard each other as strategic partners and intend to cooperate on a number of issues. These areas include: promotion of students' research and dissemination of the results of this research; joint development and implementation of educational programmes in the field of IT; preparation of training manuals in the field of IT; organising practical training and internships for students, etc.

“Cooperation with School 21 will allow us to expand the set of teaching methods used, including the peer-to-peer approach practiced by our colleagues, and thus improve the quality of IT professionals' training. Our students will be able to undergo practical training at the school's site. We have also agreed to use the school's equipment and facilities for joint activities. In the nearest future, we plan to hold our traditional city Olympiad in Informatics for school students named after V.D. Lelyukh at the School 21 site,” noted Oleg Trofimov, Rector of UNN.

“Our partnership with the region’s leading university will strengthen the human resources potential of the Nizhny Novgorod region and open new opportunities for developing the IT industry. I am confident that the exchange of experience will help to train highly qualified professionals who will contribute to the development of digital technologies and set new trends. A lot of joint projects and interesting events are ahead of us,” said Alexander Peresypkin, Director of School 21 in Nizhny Novgorod.

School 21 is a digital technology school set up by Sber. It offers the opportunity to receive free of charge in-demand IT education to everyone from 18 years of age who successfully pass the qualifying stages. Admission to the school does not depend on previous knowledge, work experience, programming skills or diplomas. 100% of the school’s graduates are successfully employed in the largest Russian IT companies and startups. School 21 is currently represented in 15 Russian cities: Moscow, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Surgut, Veliky Novgorod, Yakutsk, Yaroslavl, Magas, Belgorod, Anadyr, Magadan, Chelyabinsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Lipetsk. In the coming years, the school campuses will open in a number of other regions of Russia.
