Lobachevsky University at the V Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia

A delegation of Lobachevsky University consisting of Rector Evgeny Chuprunov, Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Larisa Zhukovskaya, and Head of the Public Relations and Online Education Department Alexei Pomazov took part in the V Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia. The event was held on October 10-12 in the city of Mogilev (Republic of Belarus) under the auspices of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, took part in the Forum. The Forum discussed priority areas for the development of regional cooperation as a key factor for integration, and prospects for strengthening international relations, including research and academic cooperation. Forum participants included members of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the regions of Russia and Belarus. The key areas of the Forum’s work were international activities and economic security, digital economy and youth policy. As a follow-up of the Forum, UNN representatives visited the Masherov State University in Vitebsk. Following the meeting of the two delegations, an agreement on cooperation between the two universities in the field of education and science was signed. The cooperation between the universities of Vitebsk and Nizhny Novgorod will result in joint research and educational projects, academic exchange and the development of joint educational programs.
