On September 22-26, the choir of Lobachevsky University under Larisa Yerykalova gave three concerts in the cities of Aubeterre and Loches (France). The French audience greeted the singing students with great enthusiasm. The program included a number of works of contemporary Russian composers, renderings of folk songs, as well as popular compositions famous all over the world.
During the three days in the French province, the choir members managed to visit several stunning places connected with the history and culture of France, including the city of Loches with its almost thousand-year history, the city of Tours, Honor? de Balzac's birthplace, and the amazing castles of Amboise, where Leonardo da Vinci is buried, Chateau de Chenonceau, the only bridge castle in the world, and Azay le Ferron. The latter castle was the scene for the final performance of the choir during the festival "Les Rencontres Chorals", where the choir became the highlight - and an honored guest - of the program.
