From May 14 to May 16, the Ist International Rovdo Choral Competition was held in Minsk, Belarus. 68 choirs representing seven countries competed in eight categories in a distance format. The competition jury consisted of internationally renowned masters of choral performance from Latvia, Estonia, the USA, Qatar, Belarus and Russia.

The Choir of Lobachevsky University under the direction of Larisa Erykalova took part in two categories: "Youth Choirs" and "Folk Music". According to the results of the first round, 13 groups, including the Choir of Lobachevsky University, qualified for the second round to compete for the Grand Prix. By the decision of the international jury, the Lobachevsky University Choir was awarded the following prizes:

- Laureate Diploma of the Ist degree in the Youth Choirs category (90.92 points)

- Laureate Diploma of the Ist degree in the Folk Music category (91.50 points)

- Special Diploma for the best performance of a work by a Belarusian author.

Larisa Erykalova, the Choir Director, says that it was especially pleasant to get the special prize: "All the teams performed Belarusian works - it was a compulsory condition of the competition. Besides, the jury included Andrei Savritsky who composed the work "Gostsik", which we performed. The high praise from the composer means that we have properly understood and conveyed the mood of his music."

The Grand Prix of the competition went to the Popov Chamber Choir of the Popov Academy of Choral Art (Moscow).
