Lobachevsky University Choir to take part in Young Voices 2022 festival
The XVII All-Russian Choir Festival Young Voices-2022 will take place in Nizhny Novgorod from May 5 to May 8. More than 500 participants aged 17 to 35 representing 17 youth choirs from across Russia will take part in this event hosted by Lobachevsky University.
The Young Voices 2022 Festival aims to form a multicultural student choral community, to develop the art of choral music in Russia, and to identify and support talented young people who wish to advance their choral skills. The Young Voices 2022 Festival is supported by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The Festival is scheduled to include:
- Choral concerts that can be attended by Nizhny Novgorod residents and visitors by invitation, as well as online in the VK festival group.
- Educational master classes by renowned experts in the choral arts for festival participants and choir directors;
- Arts and crafts fairs, national cultures fair, art exhibitions open to the residents and guests of Nizhny Novgorod.

The Young Voices Festival has been held at Lobachevsky University since 1983. It is a modern project of creative industries reflecting current trends in the development of choral art in higher education institutions that incorporates the traditions of promoting spiritual and moral values. The festival is organised by Lobachevsky University and the Sheremetev Centre, an autonomous non-profit organisation for the development of culture and education, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
