Lobachevsky University delegation takes part in APAIE 2019 conference
A delegation of Lobachevsky University took part in the APAIE 2019 international educational conference, which was held in Kuala Lumpur from March 25 to March 29. The APAIE exhibition and conference is the largest platform for developing international relations in the field of higher education and university partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region. In recent years, APAIE has become the most important global platform for dialogue and sharing best practices and for discussing key issues in higher education in the Asia-Pacific region. Leading Russian universities every year participate in this largest international forum in the APR.
The UNN represented Russia with other universities participating in the Project 5-100. The UNN delegation included Evgeny Chuprunov, Lobachevsky University’s Scientific Leader, Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and Nikita Avralev, Vice-Rector for Public Relations. The main topic of the forum this year was “Diversity and Inclusion of Higher Education in the Asia-Pacific Region”. Representatives of universities and professional organizations from around the world visited the UNN booth, which made part of the pavilion representing Project 5-100 participants from Russia.
UNN representatives held meetings with foreign partners from Australia, Malaysia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Japan, China and other countries. During the meetings, they discussed such issues as the creation of joint student exchange programs, international research and joint application for Russian and international grants, including joint work in the framework of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ program.
As part of the business program, a special session was held focusing on the Russian experience in implementing university programs for internationalization and training internationally competitive students “Internationalization for Globally Competitive Students: Experiences from Russia”. At this session, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny made his presentation. The session was moderated by Leonie Nagarajan, Director of the Education Department of the Asia-Europe Foundation.
