Lobachevsky University delegation visits Tashkent

The International Educational Forum 2019-2020 was held last week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Forum was organized by Rossotrudnichestvo with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan. A delegation of Lobachevsky University took part in presentation and selection events held in Tashkent from February 7 to February 13. Some major Russian universities presented their educational programs for applicants from Uzbekistan and their parents. In total, the event was attended by over 1,500 persons. UNN was represented at the Forum by Liliya Erushkina, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Department.

The educational and research opportunities offered by Lobachevsky University, the benefits of living and studying in Nizhny Novgorod, and admission procedures to the university (including those under the “Compatriots” program) were described in a film and a presentation demonstrated to forum visitors. UNN representatives, Professor of the Software Engineering Department A.V. Zorina, Associate Professor of the Software Engineering Department N.A. Borisov, and Deputy Director of the UNN International Affairs Department L.V. Erushkina, took part in the second stage of screening tests conducted by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan for those applying to Russian universities within the framework of an intergovernmental quota. A total of 1642 Uzbek students (from the overall number of 7500 applicants who submitted their applications) participated in the second round of selection that involved examinations in specialized subjects and the Russian language.
