Lobachevsky University delegation visits the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United Mexican States

On February 22, the UNN delegation comprising Rector E.V. Chuprunov, Vice-Rector for Research V.B. Kazantsev and Head of the International Office I.S. Leonova visited the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Mexican United States in Mexico City and met with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the United Mexican States E.R. Malayan and the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo A.M. Pakhomov.  On the same day, the delegation visited the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where talks were  held with the first Vice-Rector of the University Ken Oyama and the Director for International Affairs and Communications Francisco Trigo. The parties expressed interest in concluding an agreement on cooperation, launching academic and exchange programs and scientific internships, as well as joint  research projects. The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is the largest (in terms of the number of students) university on the American continent. UNAM is also one of the leading universities in major international ratings (QS = # 122).  On February 20, the UNN delegation visited the University of Guadalajara,  the second oldest Mexican university, and the fifth in North America, located in the city of Guadalajara.  Delegation members got acquainted with the infrastructure of the campus of the University of Guadalajara in León, met with the employees of the Center for Optical Research and held talks with Vice-Rector of the University of Guadalajara Rebeca Vanessa Garcia Corso. During the visit, a letter of intent was signed between the two universities, to be followed in the near future by the signing of an agreement on cooperation, launching academic exchanges, joint research and double degree programs.
