Lobachevsky University develops cooperation with South-East Asia

A working meeting of vice-rectors for international affairs of Russian and Taiwanese universities was held on 14 April under the auspices of the Russian Rectors' Union. The online conference discussed the achievements, priorities and plans for long-term scientific and educational cooperation between universities as well as experiences and best practices of universities operating under the constraints of the pandemic. During the meeting, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny made a presentation describing the development of cooperation between Lobachevsky University and Taiwanese universities and shared the experience of international academic exchanges. In particular, he spoke about UNN's English-language programmes. joint programmes of Russian as a foreign language with the use of distance learning technologies (as exemplified by the PREUNI online programme which started in 2020), and LOBACHEVSKY/RU international online Olympiad. Taiwanese colleagues expressed their high interest, and Alexander Bedny invited partner universities to take part in Lobachevsky University's international summer schools to be held in 2021 in a remote format.
