Lobachevsky University develops fruitful cooperation with higher education institutions of Kazakhstan
During the first six months of 2023, the International Cooperation Office of Lobachevsky University signed four new agreements on cooperation and academic mobility with universities in Kazakhstan:
- Toraighyrov University (Pavlodar);
- Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism (Almaty);
- ESIL University (Astana);
- Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz (Karaganda).
An agreement was signed with Turan University (Almaty) on the implementation of a joint educational pathway in the study area of Commerce. Currently, fruitful work is also underway to develop joint Master's programmes with Turan University and the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism. The number of Kazakhstani partner universities of Lobachevsky University has reached 17.
In May and June, a research internship for PhD students from Kazakhstan was successfully held at Lobachevsky University. Professors from the UNN Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship and the UNN Faculty of Law officially received the status of foreign advisors for PhD students of Turan University.
The joint Russian-Kazakhstani panel "Issues of Online Education Development" was organised as part of Lobachevsky University’s annual international conference "Current Trends in Education Development: Best Russian and International Practices". Panel participants discussed, among other things, the issues of optimising cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the field of science and education.
In July, Lobachevsky University concluded an agreement with the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency of Kazakhstan on the assessment (international accreditation) of three educational programmes implemented at Lobachevsky University:
- Medicine (Specialist degree);
- Dentistry (Specialist degree);
- Fundamental Computer Science and Information Technology (Bachelor's degree).
Successful completion of international accreditation will confirm the guarantees of high quality of education and services under these educational programmes and their compliance with international requirements. Graduates of these educational programmes will have additional employment guarantees both in Russia and in foreign countries.
The development of cooperation with Kazakhstani universities is a priority for Lobachevsky University, contributing to Russian-Kazakh relations in science and education.
