Lobachevsky University and the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Student Exchange Agreement.

The Memorandum of Understanding will serve as a basis of cooperation in various fields, including joint research projects and joint seminars and conferences on a number of topics. The universities also plan to submit joint applications to participate in EU projects. 

The Student Exchange Agreement provides UNN students with an opportunity to take part in the exchange program and spend from one to two semesters abroad at the University of Santiago de Compostela.

Lobachevsky University has a long history of cooperation with Spain. Among Lobachevsky University’s Spanish partners are the University of Granada, the Complutense University of Madrid, the Technical University of Madrid and the Franklin Institute at the University of Alcalá. 

The University of Santiago de Compostela was founded in 1495 and is one of the oldest universities in the world. The University ranked in the top 400 of the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2016, placed 551-600 in the QS World University Rankings 2016-2017 and 601-800 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016/2017.
