Lobachevsky University graduate to become Visa top manager in the US
Ekaterina Petelina, who graduated from the Lobachevsky University Faculty of Philology with honors in 1996, will become chief operating officer of the Visa Payment System in the USA-Canada region. Prior to that, Ekaterina Petelina worked for three years in Moscow as country manager, Visa Russia. Now she will have to move to San Francisco with her family. In November 2019, she will take the office of the second person in command of this major American company providing services of payment transactions.
Ekaterina Petelina was born in 1973 in Nizhny Novgorod. In 1996, she graduated from the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. In 2003, she received an MBA with honors from Emory University in Atlanta, USA. Since 1993, she worked at the NBD Bank in Nizhny Novgorod as an advertising expert and then as an expert for marketing and promotion of banking products. In 2006, she moved to VTB Bank, where she was in charge of strategy and corporate development. In 2010, she became a member of the Board of VTB Bank. In July 2012, she took the post of Deputy President-Chairman of the Board, director of retail business of VTB 24. Since April 2016, she has been heading the Visa office in Russia.
