The results of the selection among universities participating in the Priority-2030 programme have been approved by the Council for Support of Development Programmes chaired by Valery Falkov, head of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. Lobachevsky University was included in the second group of the programme and received funding in the amount of 460 million roubles.

The total amount of funds to be distributed among the 100 participating universities will reach 27.8 billion roubles. The first group includes 11 universities, each of them receiving about 1 billion roubles. The second group consists of 21 universities, which will get 460 million roubles each. Each of 68 universities in the third group is to receive up to 100 million roubles.

“Since this year, the updated Priority-2030 programme is being implemented as part of the national project “Youth and Children”. It stimulates universities to set ambitious goals and reorganise internal processes. An important result is the strengthening of the links between universities and the real sector of the economy. Since the programme’s launch in 2021, the amount of funds invested by technology partners in the development programmes of participating universities has doubled to 61 billion roubles last year. At the same time, the number of technology partners has also increased - there are already almost 12.5 thousand of them,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The subsidy funds can be used to build a system of incentive payments for teaching staff, to develop university infrastructure, to purchase high-tech equipment, to attract world-class researchers to universities, and to organise science events.

“The Priority-2030 programme has created conditions for strategic changes at Lobachevsky University. We have made important adjustments to the university's development programme in terms of transforming the management system and a new set of strategic projects in chemistry, new materials and software for critical information infrastructure with a focus on the product model. Within the framework of these initiatives, the fundamental basis for our country's technological leadership is being created. This is the result of the work of the entire university team, as well as the result of the support provided by the regional government under the leadership of Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region and Chairman of the UNN Supervisory Board. It is also an objective expert assessment of the university's capabilities and of the importance of the strategic initiatives that we have focused on for the coming years. I would like to thank all the staff of Lobachevsky University! There are great challenges ahead,” said UNN Rector Oleg Trofimov.
