For the third consecutive year, Lobachevsky University is named among the top 500 world  universities in the prestigious international Round University Ranking (RUR).

This year, UNN holds the 494th place and is among Russia’s top 10 universities in this ranking. In some categories, in particular, the quality of teaching, it has improved its position compared to the previous year and holds the 143rd place, having entered the top 150 of the world list. 

A total of 763 universities from 74 countries took part in the RUR 2017 ranking (in 2016, there were  693 universities) . Russia is represented by 67 universities from 30 regions.

Raw data for the RUR Rankings system is provided by an international company Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters division for science and intellectual property). 

The performance of universities was measured by 20 indicators across key university missions: teaching, research, international diversity and financial sustainability. Each university in the ranking receives its unique score with an accuracy of 3 decimal places and a respective position.

 

According to UNN Rector, Professor Evgeny  Chuprunov, despite the tight competition in the global research and educational space and the increased number of universities participating in the ranking, Lobachevsky University successfully retains its position among the top 500  universities in the world.
