qs world university rankings

Lobachevsky University currently ranks 65th in the overall rating, as a year earlier, showing good results in the categories “Teaching Staff Quality”, “Academic Reputation” and “Education Quality”. Now it holds the 14th position among Russian universities. The 2018 ranking covers 300 universities, including 86 universities from Russia. The Moscow State University is traditionally at the top.

According to UNN Rector, Professor Evgeny Chuprunov, Lobachevsky University as the largest center for regional development demonstrates that our education and science are competitive in the world. “The University is working to radically update its research, experimental and educational facilities, provides opportunities for human capital development, renders support for leading researchers and young talents, attracts world-renowned scientists and talented students to the University, develops double degree programs with leading universities of the world and does many other things", said Evgeny Chuprunov.

To rank the universities of Eastern European and Central Asian regions, a special ranking methodology was used. It was compiled with the help of the Global Academic Council of QS Experts and local experts. University success indicators include academic reputation, employers’ opinion, student to faculty ratio, the proportion of foreign faculty members and students, the proportion of employees with advanced degrees, and the effectiveness of Internet resources and publication activity. The novelty introduced in 2018 is the International Scientific Relations indicator included in the rating to assess the international openness of universities’ research activities.
