Lobachevsky University is listed in the 2018 QS World University Rankings by Subject
In 2018, Lobachevsky University entered the prestigious QS World University Rankings by Subject for the second consecutive year. Now, it holds a high position in the range 301-350 in the area of studies "Physics and Astronomy". This year, Lobachevsky University has improved its overall rating indicators, with credit points in 17 subject categories (compared to 15 categories in 2017).
The University has also demonstrated high results in the areas of "Mathematics", "Natural Sciences" and "Engineering and Technology", however, it was just short of getting to the top group in these ratings.
According to Professor Evgeny Chuprunov, Rector of the UNN, good ranking positions of Lobachevsky University in the elite of the world's universities show that the trend for the development of education and science at the University goes in line with the highest world standards.
"In the face of serious global competition in education and science, we confidently retain the leading positions among the best universities in the world in physics and astronomy. The number of subject areas where the University has very good indicators is also increasing. For the coming years, we set the task of entering at least 3 subject rankings, and we are very close to this goal in mathematics, chemistry and IT. I am also glad that the representatives of the humanities began to appear on the radar of subject rankings," said Evgeny Chuprunov.
