Lobachevsky University joined the Ethics Code for Artificial Intelligence. It establishes general ethical principles and standards of conduct to guide those involved in activities using artificial intelligence. UNN Rector Elena Zagaynova signed an appropriate memorandum on the sidelines of the VII Annual Conference "DIIR-2022" on June 2, 2022.

"A major research project "Reliable and Logically Transparent Artificial Intelligence: Technology, Verification and Application in Socially Significant and Infectious Diseases" is being implemented at UNN with the support from the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Serious research is under way to create a new generation of artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. The range of applications of artificial intelligence is very wide; it can solve problems for various areas of human life. That is why the rules and principles governing its creation and application are so important. Together with our colleagues from various fields, we have joined the Ethics Code for Artificial Intelligence, and this is a very important event," commented Elena Zagaynova, Rector of Lobachevsky University.

The ceremony was attended by Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

When signing the memorandum, a Gosklyuch mobile signature was used. It is a service which generates an electronic signature for the users of the Public Services portal. By signing the document, Lobachevsky University agreed to follow the Code of Ethics in good faith. In total, representatives of 19 Nizhny Novgorod companies and universities, as well as the administration of Nizhny Novgorod also joined in.

Lobachevsky University takes part in the VII Digital Industry of Industrial Russia Conference (DIIR-2022) both in the exhibition programme, presenting its projects at the stand of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and in the business programme that includes panel discussions and meetings.
