Lobachevsky University listed 16th among Russian universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020
Lobachevsky University is listed in 1001+ band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, one of the most authoritative global university ratings. According to the criterion "Interaction with industrial partners" it is ranked 487th in the list of the best universities in the world, thus becoming one of the top 500. UNN also holds high positions in the area “Quality of education”, closely approaching the top 600 (605th place).
Every year, the number of participants in the rating grows, and this year’s ranking presented an evaluation of the top 1396 universities from all over the world (for comparison, 1102 universities took part in the last year ranking). Among Russian universities, Lomonosov Moscow State University has consistently been the leader.
According to Kirill Markov, Acting Rector of the UNN, the university takes a positive view on its results in the 2020 Times Higher Education World University Ranking.
“Lobachevsky University, even with the annual increase in the number of rating participants, including those from Russia, is once again among the best universities in the world according to this authoritative world ranking. Moreover, we have shown high indicators in such important areas as “Quality of education” and “Interaction with industrial partners”. An important factor contributing to this success is UNN’s participation in the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100. Thanks to the state program aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Russia’s leading universities among the world's leading research and educational centers, entirely new conditions and opportunities have been created at the University for the implementation of breakthrough technologies and the development of international activities", said Kirill Markov.
Overall, the Times Higher Education World University Ranking evaluates universities according to 13 indicators of university activities, including the quality of education, academic and research reputation, citation, international activity, financial results.
