Lobachevsky University pursues cooperation with Chinese partners

UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny took part in the online meeting between representatives of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and Anhui Province (People's Republic of China). The event was organised by the Nizhny Novgorod region’s Department of International Relations and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Anhui Provincial Government, with Wu Yingqin, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Kazan, being the honorary participant.
During the discussion involving representatives of executive authorities, higher education and business circles of the two regions, Alexander Bedny outlined the activities of Nizhny Novgorod’s leading university and presented Lobachevsky University’s scientific and educational potential. He also spoke about the ongoing cooperation with Chinese colleagues and proposed future areas of cooperation. In turn, Vice-President of Anhui University Zhou Fei informed the participants about key areas of the university's development and possible fields of interaction presenting mutual interest.

Lobachevsky University continues to develop cooperation with Chinese partners. In December 2018, a delegation from Anhui Province visited UNN. It included representatives from Tunlin University, Anhui University of Architecture, Anhui University of Economics and Finance, Hefei University, Anhui Pedagogical University, Anhui University of Science and Technology, and Anhui University. A cooperation agreement was signed with Tunlin University.

UNN is a member of the Volga-Yangtze Association of Higher Education Institutions and takes an active part in this organisation’s activities. Lobachevsky University is developing technological cooperation with Huawei, which includes joint international schools, conferences, open lectures and master classes by scientists and practitioners.
