Lobachevsky University ranks among the top 400 universities of the world in RUR Subject Rankings

UNN is confidently placed among the top 400 in RUR Subject Rankings 2017/2018, the prestigious international universities rating, in four categories "Life Sciences" (265th position), "Natural Sciences" (334th position), "Social Sciences" (375th position) , "Technical Sciences" (362nd position). Among the Russian universities, Lobachevsky University is listed in the top 10, and in some categories, in particular, "Life Sciences" – among the top five universities in Russia. This year’s rating covered 761 universities from more than 70 countries, including 22 universities from Russia. The initial data for the RUR rating is provided by the Institutional Profiles database of Thomson Reuters, one of the most authoritative sources of information on higher education institutions in the world. A system of 20 activity indicators in various areas, including "Teaching", "Studies", "Internationalization", "Financial Sustainability", etc., was used for comprehensive analysis of university performance.

According to UNN Rector, Professor Evgeny Chuprunov, RUR is a good example of how an international rating can be successfully created by Russian experts in cooperation with an authoritative international agency. "Our results confirm once again that Lobachevsky University is one of the leading educational institutions in the world, makes part of the world university elite and has significant achievements in the development of breakthrough areas in science and technology," said Evgeny Chuprunov.
