Lobachevsky University students and postgraduates to receive scholarships of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation

Once again, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation has encouraged the students and postgraduates of Lobachevsky University for excellence in studies and research activities. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, scholarships of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation were awarded to 18 students and 18 postgraduates of Lobachevsky University.

The scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation amounts to 5000 roubles, while the Russian President’s scholarship is 7000 roubles per month. This is one of the most prestigious awards for excellence in studies. To receive such a scholarship, students must show excellent  performance for two consecutive semesters, win competition prizes and have publications in scientific journals.

The list of postgraduates awarded with the scholarship includes 18 names from Lobachevsky University – more than from any other university in Russia.

Scholarship winners take part in various research projects at their departments and are authors of patents and papers in international scholarly journals. Presidential scholarship holders may do a research internship in Germany, Sweden or France.

According to UNN Rector,  Professor E.Chuprunov, high achievements of students and postgraduates of Lobachevsky University are a clear indication of the University’s world-class education and science: "UNN has always paid special attention to the organization and quality of education and research, to the use of the most advanced educational technologies and methodologies, to the  development of the practical component of the learning process and to the ties with leading employers: government agencies, research institutions, industrial companies and businesses. Scholarships of such a high level are awarded on a competitive basis to a limited number of students in this country, but UNN students win such scholarships every year. Each new name is  a new recognition of the quality of knowledge and competencies of our future graduates."
