A working online meeting of the members of the consortium of universities implementing the IMCEERES program for Central, Eastern European and Russian studies was held on May 19. Representatives of universities from Great Britain, Estonia, Poland, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan and Ukraine participating in this international educational project took part in this online event.

Lobachevsky University was represented at the meeting by IMCEERES program coordinators Roman Golubin, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Irina Leonova, Director of the International Affairs Department, Sergei Sudin and Irina Petrova, Deputy Deans of the UNN Faculty of Social Sciences. The meeting discussed practical issues related to student exchange within the framework of the program, as well as the action plan for the future. During the meeting, the partners stressed that the well-being of students was a priority issue, especially in the situation created by the coronavirus pandemic. The main topics of discussion included planning the implementation of the program for the next academic year and options for adapting to rapidly changing circumstances. An important decision was made regarding the format of the Master's thesis defence by the students participating in the programme, which is scheduled for September. In the context of the program modernization, one of the members of the IMCEERES consortium proposed to create an additional research course, which would help students to cope more successfully with the writing of their final thesis. The partners discussed the advantages of such a course, its
format, requirements and assessment system. Representatives of the project partner universities also had the opportunity to communicate with the students who shared their experience in the program and told about the difficulties they and their classmates encountered due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, six students from the USA, France, Great Britain and Poland, who studied for a semester at the University of Tartu (Estonia) and a semester at the University of Glasgow (Great Britain) and then chose Lobachevsky University to complete their studies and defend their master's theses, are completing their studies within the framework of the IMCEERES program at the UNN Faculty of Social Sciences in the English-language Master's program "Sociology of Politics and International Relations".
