In December 2020, Lobachevsky University was awarded a subsidy from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for developing additional educational and professional training programmes under the federal project "New Opportunities for Everyone" of the national project "Education".The UNN Centre for Inclusive Education together with the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy of the UNN Arzamas branch has developed an additional professional education programme "Organization of inclusive education at school" aimed at improving the skills of school teachers, heads of departments and organizers of educational work in schools. According to Elena Zagaynova, Rector of Lobachevsky University, the aim of the programme is to help its participants in mastering the competencies needed to ensure accessibility and improve the quality of education when organizing an inclusive educational process.

"Currently, over 200 persons from 6 regions of the Russian Federation are studying under the programme. The classes are held in the distance learning mode," added Elena Zagaynova.

Similar programmes are also regularly held for Lobachevsky University staff in order to improve the competencies of the teaching and support staff of the university.
