Lobachevsky UniverSum Festival - National Cultures Workshop at UNN
The Lobachevsky UniverSum Festival - National Cultures Workshop is in full swing at the UNN. It is implemented as part of a grant project of Rosmolodezh, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
Students from different countries studying at Lobachevsky University organized an exhibition-fair of national cultures on November 25.
Egor Kolesnikov, who is responsible for coordinating the work with students at the UNN International Students Support Office, notes: "We changed the format a little bit this time by adding small events inside the exhibition. The festival is designed to show the diversity of cultures and peoples, to unite our students who study at the university - in fact, under one roof, in one common home. Events of this kind are always very special, our international students prepare for them carefully and with pleasure. For them, such festivals are always a joy, an opportunity to show themselves, to celebrate their countries’ culture and traditions".
Currently, young people from about a hundred countries study at Lobachevsky University. The fair, which was held at the dormitory for international students, brought together students from Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Yemen, Morocco and China, as well as from Serbia, India, Algeria and other countries. Some of them prepared stands to present their countries in a beautiful and educational way, while others were eager to learn something new in their role of spectators. Two master classes were held within the framework of the exhibition: the dance class was prepared by students from Latin America, and the Berber language class was organized by representatives of Morocco. Students from Yemen and Egypt performed a dance show.
