Marianna Karpycheva, lecturer at the UNN Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, became the absolute winner in the Russian Cup in draughts for visually impaired, which ended on February 28 in Chelyabinsk. Taking part in the competition were players from the Khabarovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions.

Candidate Master of Sports Marianna Karpycheva, who represented the Nizhny Novgorod region, won first places among women in all three disciplines of the Cup of Russia: in Russian draughts, in fast Russian draughts and in lightning Russian draughts.

These are Marianna’s  first gold medals at the national level. In 2020, she became the silver prize-winner in the All-Russian womens’ competitions, in addition to her silver medal in the Checkers Championship of Russia among visually impaired people.
