Master class on sports tourism organised by UNN students
As part of their organisational practical training, a team of students from the UNN Faculty of Physical Education and Sports has implemented the project “Master Class in Sport Tourism From Beginner to Pro” at the special boarding school No. 1 for orphans and children without parental care.
The project group included Ekaterina Mazanova, Ksenia Badeynikova, Andrei Akulin and Pavel Shchenkin. The students showed the pupils how to assemble a tent and introduced them to camping equipment. Each participant was also able to try their skills under the rope tension system when crossing the river and feel like a real mountaineer.
“This was the first time we organised such an event, we were a bit nervous, but because of the team spirit and the desire to make these special children happy in a very special way, everything worked out just fine,“ said Ekaterina Mazanova.
At the end of the master class, the children received certificates confirming their courage and determination, as well as sweet gifts from the event sponsor, the Boomerang international club of motorbike travellers.
‘’Organisational practical training has been in place at our Faculty of Physical Education and Sports since 2014, and students have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. Now Lobachevsky University is introducing the educational methodology ‘’Learning by Service‘’, which allows students to implement projects that are necessary and important for society,‘’ said project supervisor, senior lecturer Leonid Filonov.
