On March 26, an international student defended her Master's thesis at the UNN Faculty of Social Sciences. The student from Sweden completed her studies at Lobachevsky University within the framework of the international educational project of the Erasmus Mundus International Joint Master Degree Programme “Central & East European, Russian & Eurasian Studies” (IMCEERES).

The project, which is implemented by a consortium of eight European universities (including Lobachevsky University) and coordinated by the University of Glasgow (UK), provides a unique opportunity for students to study at 3 universities for 2 years of Master's degree programme and to obtain 3 Master's degrees from leading European universities - members of the consortium.

In the academic year 2019-2020, six students from the USA, France, Great Britain, Poland and Sweden, having studied for a semester at the University of Glasgow (Great Britain) and a semester at the University of Tartu (Estonia), came to the Faculty of Social Sciences at Lobachevsky University to complete their studies within the project. The basic degree programme of IMCEERES at Lobachevsky University is the English-language Master's programme "Sociology of Politics and International Relations".

The Master's theses was prepared by the student under the joint scientific supervision of professors from three universities. The defence was organized online as part of a joint meeting of the State Examination Board of Lobachevsky University and representatives of Glasgow University and the University of Tartu. The student has demonstrated a good level of preparation and a high motivation, which was noted by the Board members.
