Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan celebrated at Lobachevsky University
Representatives of the Council of Turkmen Students organised a colourful and unforgettable celebration to mark the Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan. This event was part of the activities aimed at socialisation and adaptation of international students. The UNN International Students Support Office regularly holds cultural events that help to learn about the culture and traditions of the countries whose representatives study at Lobachevsky University. One recent example was the Lobachevsky UniverSum Festival of Cultures held at UNN.
"Students from Turkmenistan are always very actively involved in various cultural and sporting events. The Nowruz spring festival annually held with the participation of Turkmen students has become a hallmark of our international students' community! But this time the students surpassed themselves by organising a colourful, cheerful and very beautiful festival. It is especially important that students from other countries also took part in the preparation and realisation of the concert programme dedicated to the Neutrality Day, which underlines the cohesion and friendly relations in the multinational community of international students", said Dmitry Medvedev, Head of the International Students Support Office.
The main initiator and organiser of the event was Sheikhnazar Davletov, a 2nd year Master's student and head of the Council of Turkmen Students of UNN. This is not the first initiative implemented by the Turkmen students' community. In this way, the students demonstrate not only their culture, but also their readiness to realise their creative and personal potential, showing a good example to others.
"It is always challenging but interesting to interact with international student self-government members, as they are full of ideas and have a fresh perspective on ordinary things. As for the students from Turkmenistan, they gladly take part in organising national holidays and welcome everyone who wants to learn about the culture and traditions of Turkmenistan," said Egor Kolesnikov of the International Students Support Office.
The Day of Neutrality of Turkmenistan has been celebrated since 1995. It is one of the country’s main public holidays.
