New academic year at Lobachevsky University: questions and answers (English, Arabic)
The new academic year at Lobachevsky University begins on September 1, 2020. How will the learning process be structured? Is it necessary to come to the University campus for classes? When will the class schedule be known? Answers to these and other questions from our students are collected in this material.
When and how will studies at Lobachevsky University start?
The academic year will start in a mixed format on September 1, 2020. This is the first (upper) week of studies.
Do I have to come to the University for classes?
From September 1, Lobachevsky University will organize the learning process in a mixed format. This means that classes in all subjects will be implemented in two formats: face-to-face - in classrooms and laboratories of the University; remotely - in any place with the use of the necessary equipment (laptop / computer / tablet with a microphone and camera) and where there is a stable access to the Internet. This refers to classes that do not require your presence at the university. For example, lectures will be delivered remotely via videoconferencing, while laboratory work/seminar sessions will be organized face-to-face in the university laboratories. Lobachevsky University is happy and ready to see all students face to face with all the precautions against COVID-19.
Do students have to attend face-to-face classes?
Information for international students!
Students may not be required to attend face-to-face classes if they stay in their home country or if they have come to Nizhny Novgorod, but due to health concerns they are ready to study remotely. To do this, a student must apply in advance (by August 26, 2020) by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to the Student Multifunctional Center (SMC). The application should include the following: the student's full name, faculty/institute/branch, group, for how long the student requests to be transferred to distance learning.
How will classes be conducted in a mixed format?
Lobachevsky University will continue to use e-learning and distance learning technologies (online courses, videoconferencing systems, electronic testing, virtual laboratory work, etc.) to conduct classes, but this does not rule out "offline" learning, face-to-face, "live" classes with teachers in the university classrooms. The mixed format of studies will begin in the autumn semester of the academic year 2020/2021.
Will teachers register students' attendance at classes?
Regardless of the format of the class (remote or face-to-face), teachers will keep records of student attendance at their classes.
When will the class schedule be known?
The class schedule (regardless of the format of studies) will be available in the student's personal account in the electronic information and education environment of Lobachevsky University no later than August 26, 2020. How will the learning process be organized for those readmitted or transferred to Lobachevsky University?
Regardless of the student's status, the studies for all UNN students will be in a mixed format.
And what about the practical training?
Practical training for students will be available in offline and online formats. Partner companies of Lobachevsky University provide students with the opportunity to have their practical training remotely. Students will also have the opportunity to have their practical training at the departments of Lobachevsky University (in face-to-face and remote format).
How will the studies be organized for international and nonresident students as well as for students who have returned to the Russian Federation after studying under academic mobility programs?
International students who have entered the Russian Federation will be allowed to take part in classes after the completion of a 14-day self-isolation provided their COVID-19 test taken on the 10th-12th day after arrival is negative. To move into the dormitory, students must submit the results of their COVID-19 test made three days before their arrival in Nizhny Novgorod or during the first three days after arrival. A repeated COVID-19 test must be made on the 10th-12th day after arrival in Russia. It is a PCR test, with the use of a nose and oropharyngeal swab. Distance learning will be arranged for international students who cannot arrive by the beginning of the academic year. Students arriving from Russian regions with a difficult epidemiological situation will also have to take a coronavirus test before they are allowed to attend classes.

- هل يجب علي القدوم إلى الجامعة لحضور الحصص الدراسية؟

- كيف سيتم إجراء الفصول في شكل مختلط؟
ستستمر جامعة لوباتشفسكي في استخدام تقنيات التعلم الإلكتروني والتعلم عن بعد (الدورات التدريبية عبر الإنترنت ، وأنظمة الفيديو ، والاختبار الإلكتروني ، والعمل المختبري الافتراضي ، وما إلى ذلك) لإجراء الفصول الدراسية ، ولكن هذا لا يستبعد التعلم "غير المتصل بالإنترنت" ، من خلال التواجد في الجامعة وممارسة الانشطة الجامعية مع المعلمين. سنبدأ الانشطة الجامعية بكلتا الطريقتين في فصل الخريف من العام الدراسي 2020/2021.

- كيف سيتم تنظيم عملية التعلم لأولئك الذين أعيد قبولهم أو نقلوا إلى جامعة لوباتشفسكي ؟

- وماذا عن التدريب العملي؟
سيكون التدريب العملي للطلاب متاحًا بالإنترنت او بدون. توفر الشركات الشريكة- لجامعة لوباتشفسكي- للطلاب فرصة الحصول على تدريبهم العملي عن بُعد. ستتاح للطلاب أيضًا فرصة الحصول على تدريبهم العملي في أقسام جامعة لوباتشفسكي (اما بالحضور اوعن بُعد).

- كيف سيتم تنظيم الدراسات للطلاب الدوليين وغير المقيمين وكذلك للطلاب الذين عادوا إلى الاتحاد الروسي بعد الدراسة في إطار برامج التنقل الأكاديمي؟
سيُسمح للطلاب الاجانب الذين دخلوا الاتحاد الروسي بالمشاركة في الفصول الدراسية بعد الانتهاء من العزلة الذاتية لمدة 14 يومًا بشرط أن يكون اختبار COVID-19 الذي تم إجراؤه في اليوم العاشر إلى الثاني عشر بعد الوصول سلبيًا.
للانتقال إلى السكن الجامعي ، يجب على الطلاب إرسال نتائج اختبار COVID-19 الخاص بهم الذي تم إجراؤه قبل ثلاثة أيام من وصولهم إلى نيجني نوفغورود أو خلال الأيام الثلاثة الأولى بعد الوصول.
يجب إجراء اختبار COVID-19 المتكرر في اليوم العاشر إلى الثاني عشر بعد الوصول إلى روسيا. إنه اختبار تفاعل البوليميراز المتسلسل (PCR) باستخدام مسحة من الأنف والفم والبلعوم.
سيتم ترتيب التعلم عن بعد للطلاب الاجانب الذين لا يستطيعون الوصول بحلول بداية العام الدراسي.
سيتعين على الطلاب القادمين من المناطق الروسية التي تعاني من وضع وبائي صعب إجراء اختبار فيروس كورونا قبل السماح لهم بحضور الفصول الدراسية.
