From May 30 to June 17, Lobachevsky University co-organised an online summer school on the basics of the Russian language, Russian history, politics and law for students of the Institute of Languages and Culture (International Institute) of the Shanghai University of Politics and Law (China). More than 30 Chinese students received training in the basics of the Russian language, Russian history, politics and law. The summer school classes were taught in Russian.

Organisational arrangements were made on behalf of Lobachevsky University by its International Cooperation Office.

Summer school classes were taught by the following lecturers of Lobachevsky University:

on the basics of the Russian language: Ekaterina Smirnova, Head of the Department for Work with International Students, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language,  and Olga Lebedeva, Associate Professor of the same Department.

on the basics of Russian politics and history: Konstantin Kemaev,  Deputy Vice Rector for International Affairs, Associate Professor of the Department of University Management and Innovation in Education.
on the basics of Russian law: Alexander Gorylev, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Office, Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law, and Arina Fedyushkina, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law.

The Chinese students highly appreciated the quality of classes prepared by UNN professors during the summer school and expressed their interest in participating in Lobachevsky University’s mobility programmes.

Lobachevsky University’s participation in organising an online summer school on the basics of the Russian language, Russian history, politics and law for students of the Shanghai University of Politics and Law is a significant event in the cooperation between the two universities. This school will serve as the basis for developing joint educational programmes between Lobachevsky University and the Shanghai University of Politics and Law in the future.
