The Winter School on Performance Optimization of Computer Vision Algorithms has opened at Lobachevsky University. The school runs from 1 to 5 February 2021 during the student holidays in an online format. The school was organized by the staff of the UNN Institute of IT, Mathematics and Mechanics (IITMM) and Intel. It continues the long tradition of organizing joint scientific and educational events. The purpose of the school is to improve the professional level of young IT professionals in performance analysis and software optimization. This year, the Winter School is being held online for the first time. It includes lectures and practical training in the format of master classes that are open to everyone interested. More than 100 students, postgraduates, and engineers from Lobachevsky University, Higher School of Economics, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, and other universities of Nizhny Novgorod and Russia will take part in the School. Under the guidance of leading experts from Intel and UNN, students will have the opportunity to improve their skills in the following areas: computer architecture, parallel programming, performance analysis, optimizing compilers, code vectorization, optimized math libraries, the OpenCV computer vision library, and the OpenVINO toolbox. In addition to open lectures and practical training for all participants, the School also offers sessions with feedback for competitively selected students.  Participants will also get acquainted with the Intel division in Russia and Intel's student programs. The recordings of the broadcasts will be available in the "Intel - Career and Education" group on VKontakte (in Russian).
